"Earcatecture" applicator

These guys have a strange
job.  Once a year, they're hired
to replace every one of the
275,000 ears of corn which
cover the Corn Palace in
Mitchell, S.D.

Here they're marking which
of the eleven different colors
of corn goes where. Then
they simply nail the ears of
corn to the pattern.This "corn
by number" process takes
about 3 months
.
