Annual sand sculpture competitions provide an opportunity to see some amazing -- but transient -- art. 

These photos are from several different competitions held in Florida, Texas, and the big one, in tiny Harrison Hot Springs, British Columbia
(pop. 1536), where the first prize is $100,000.
